Marion Stokes was born in Philadelphia, USA. From an early age, this woman who was intelligently joined the library profession and learned to understand the importance of preserving the actual information. He produced a talk show called “Input” at a TV station in Philadelphia, the program that made Marion similarly popular and controversial.
From that year onwards, Marion Stokes began to record television programs for 24 hours. News, interviews, documentaries could not be excluded from the part of his record. Marion thought that the powerful would change their convenient history so he saved the history of television.
Marion used to keep eight video recorders together, and this conservation work was so close and important that he kept the VCR recording on the hospital even during the hospital. He had so much tape in his own apartment that they had to rent storage units.
Marion Stokes died in 2002. After his death, his family and conservation workers handed over his collected VHS tapes to a non -profit organization – Internet Archive. Currently this huge archive is being digitized and opened to the public. At the time of his death, his collection included about 5 VHS tapes – which is a huge collection of US news history.
